When my daughter told us one night that she was pregnant, my world seemed to crumble at my feet. We sent her in an exclusive school for girls hoping she will have a bright future when she graduates. We spent a fortune for her tuition fees and other school fees and to know that she got her self pregnant with an out of school youth was unbearable. I gave her a choice, she can either marry the father of her child or forget him and continue her studies and we will take care of her baby. She had chosen to be with the man she thinks she loves. She dropped out of school and lived with the father of her child. Years passed she went home, sickness was all over her body. She then told us that her husband almost beat her to death when she did not give him money and their child died of malnutrition. My heart crashed the second time around.

I read an article one day regarding the different views of men and women, it was funny but true. A woman marries a man hoping he will change but he does not. A man marries a woman hoping she will not change but she will. A man marries a woman because she reminds him of his mother, he then divorce her because she was becoming more like her mother. When someone gets married, he or she will gradually matures and he or she will have new set of priorities in life and basically their attention will be focused on the family they are building. Well, I am not ready for that, being single is the most convenient phase in any one’s life.
